Qualifications & Training
I am a qualified Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Clinical Supervisor. I have an MSc in Counselling Psychology, BSc Psychology and BA (Hons) in Social Science and a Diploma in Integrative Clinical Supervision. I am registered with the BACP (British assoc. for Counselling and Psychotherapy), accredited by the BPS (British Psychological Society) and I abide by the professional Codes and Ethics of both these bodies. I am trained in: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused, Cognitive, Humanistic and Psychodynamic therapies. I have additional specialist training in: anxiety, depression, self-esteem, eating disorders, trauma, race, culture, politics and clinical supervision.
Business Experience
I have over 11 years experience in this field. I was Senior Counsellor for Maggie’s award winning therapy team at Westminster Mind. Alongside my private practice, I lead counselling provision for several NHS GP Practices, I have continued working as the Senior Practitioner at Mind and I provide clinical supervision to trainee counsellors. I am committed to developing quality in therapeutic provision and teach counselling organisations how to evaluate the quality of their service. I have previously worked with students, homeless, young people, and was a Senior Supervisor for Childline volunteers. Prior to training as a therapist I was a Social Worker for children & families, the elderly mentally ill and young people with learning and physical disabilities.
Life Experience
I am an open and dynamic person and this is a feature of how I work with people. I have been committed to working with people experiencing distress and life problems since 1992 when began working in Social Care. This continues to be something I am passionate about.
