Qualifications
I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist. I hold an MSc in Occupational Psychology, BSc (Hons) in Psychology, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy. In line with my enthusiasm for life-long learning I am currently undertaking research which when completed will confer the additional status of Doctor of Integrative Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy. I am accredited and registered with the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and the BPS (British Psychological Society) and I am also a Member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I abide by the professional Codes and Ethics of these bodies.
Training
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, Transactional Analysis (TA), Transpersonal, Psychodynamic and Person Centred therapies. I have additional specialist training in: stress, workplace bullying, bereavement, eating disorders (including anorexia, bulimia nervosa, and compulsive eating) and chronic illness. I also draw on my post-graduate training in occupational psychology to assist with work related issues including workplace stress and bullying.
Business Experience
I have over 10 years experience working in this field. I worked as a counsellor for Maggie’s award winning therapy team at Westminster Mind. Alongside my private practice, I have extensive experience working with bereavement and workplace issues. I have worked in both public and private industry sectors and therefore appreciate the pressures of the work itself and the challenge in achieving a good work-life balance.
Life Experience
I am an open, optimistic individual. I have held an enthusiasm for understanding human behaviour and self-development for over 20 years and have been passionate in using my knowledge to support others experiencing distress since this time.
